Random Ramblings #6

Health Wise

I'm almost over the virus that I had. My sprain is getting better, but taking so darn long. I'm officially out of work. This has caused financial, and depression problems to worsen. I wrote a few blog post drafts concerning the depression, but glad I never posted them. They even scared me. I'm not happy to be alive right now. They say that it is always darkest before the dawn. Well, I hope so, because it's very dark now.

He Was Slapping Her

My asshole of a neighbor had knocked his girlfriend down and was standing over her slapping her. This happened in the hall. I immediately called the police. They arrived in two minutes. By the time the cops arrived they were in her apartment, and questioned them. I could hear the conversation. The dispute was over money, (I think for drugs). My favorite neighbor, and I agreed to call the cops right away if Mr. asshole starts in again. We don't want him getting away with it. (Sorry if my language offends you, but I can't think of a better word for him at this time.)

Rochester Weather - Tornados & Cool

Two tornado's hit the Western N.Y. area not far from Rochester on July 25th. They caused quite a bit of damage in Corfu in Genessee county, and a little in Hilton in Monroe county where they hit. Hundreds of customers lost electricity in those areas. The Darien-Corfu tornado had moderate damage to several buildings and trees and winds ranging from 86-110mph. The path was four miles long and 100 yards wide. The tornado in Hilton caused less damage. It's big news around here since our last tornado in Monroe county (my county) was in 1981.

I've been enjoying wonderfully cool weather lately! We have only had 4 days over 80 degrees (26.6 C) and none in the 90's (32-37 C). We just might break the record for the coldest July in history (since 1871) for Rochester. I just love it! Yes, we have more rain then usual, but it's no big deal. Not much flooding at all.

Glad you are on the mend, but, whoa, how awful to have to witness such violence. Good that you called. I always do when something similar goes on.

Sounds like you need some fresh air. Go and sit on the porch and get some sunlight. :)

Hang in there, AIR....hang in there. Kudos to you for calling the cops. That took courage. Real courage. Be proud...

Glad to hear you are getting better. hopefully not too long before your sprain is healed. I am so sorry that this illness has caused such stress for you financially and with your depression.

I am glad to hear you called the police, far to many people ignore or pretend not to hear violence and as someone I know says ignoring something or not doing something is just the same as accepting something

Cling to that thought -the light is coming. Depression is hard. I know and whats worse is those who dont suffer it thing you can snap out of it any time you choose. Keep a routine wont you? Even if its getting to blog each day. Domestic abuse. Oh dear. Its sick and so glad you called the police. Take the best of care and please ask for help if you need it - I do understand, truly. Hi Mike Golch,

Tell your dad he can be my neighbor any time. ;)

Hi Dr. Deb,

I didn't think twice. I grabbed the phone immediately. I never saw that crap, and have low tolerance for abuse.

How come they can put someone away for SAYING that they want to hurt themselves, but a man can beat up a woman, and the police let him go? Doesn't seem right to me.

Hi Lady Banana,

Thanks a bunch! ;)

I'd rather have cool & wet, than hot & dry.

Hi Debo Hobo,

Not a bad idea. Sun is suppose to be good for the blues.
-------------

Hi L'uragano (The Hurricane),

Thanks! I felt like it was the least I could do. Maybe I should put a tape recorder & camera near my door for next time. "Say cheese asshole"! ;)

-----------------
Hi S'onnie,

One of my neighbors saw him drag her on the ground by the hair like a caveman. I don't understand why she didn't call the cops, or maybe I'm not the only one who did?

Hi Lilly,

Well, I'm ready to go towards the light! Sorry, bad joke, but I'm so sick of struggling.

Yes, some people think that I'm fine because I have a good day, or laugh at a joke. They don't get that I'm still depressed.

Thanks for caring!

We had the coldest July too! Of course cold means 70's ... which I love.

I had some wild neighbors months back. I stinks to see / hear stuff like that. You did the right thing by calling.

My internet travels have been scattered. Seems I do not make it to as many blogs as often as I would like, but scheduals in my life are very "wonky". I never know when I will be home, nor how long I will work any given day. Right now I am taking a few hooky days ... ( shhhh - that's a secret between you and me )

Anyhoo... sounds like you are doing OK. We all have the life stress going on in some form or another. Don't forget to email me if you just want to bend my ear, K ??

Big kiss,
SpeedyCat ;-)

Good for you for calling the cops. Too often, wives accept whatever husbands do to them as "their fault." My sister would say, "Well, I pushed his button. I knew better." Wrong answer. She finally made the 911 call herself when he took a knife to her throat. You are a good neighbor.

Awake

My only advice when all the world is swirling and dark, is to find a quiet place and make yourself sit still and breath deep. Re-connect with what is important. Eventually the true door will come into view...then you can walk through it!

You are in my prayers

Hi Speedycat,

Well summers seem slow blog wise anyway. Things tend to pick up in winter. As for me I'm still going to the library to use the computer. Hope you are well. ;)

Hi Elizabeth Mahlou,

Sorry to hear about the abuse of your sister. It's good to watch out for one another.
------------

Hi twofinches,

I'm so tired many, many, many, times. I'm so tired of trying.
------------

Hi meleah rebeccah,

I'll be right over. ;) I've tried to write a comment on your blog by using many computers here at the library, but your blog dosen't take them. :( I'll give it another go. I've been thinking about you a lot, and hope that your ok.

We have had our share of weird weather this year too. We had a huge storm a couple of weeks back.

It took down some trees in our yard, some pretty big ones, people lost roofs off of their houses, and of course hundreds lost power. We rarely get this type weather in August.

There were only straight winds and no tornadoes. But, they clocked the winds down at the cove where we live at 75 miles an hour.

About your neighbor that is just so frustrating and drives me batty. My dad was a violent man and my first husband was too.

It's very hard to live close to it and see it happening. You have to be careful though. Because generally when they make up if you have taken sides, and they know it, both of them will turn against you.

I took a long long summer break and am trying now to visit everyone on my blog roll to get caught up.

I hope you are doing well and know I have missed you and everyone very much!!
Hugs,
Jackie:-)

oh oh oh sorry to hear you were sick and had a sprain also. I can definitely relate.

I am still getting over an inflamed sciatic nerve. It has not been a fun experience!!
