Social Networking - Which community do you like?

MyBlogLog, del.icio.us, digg, Twitter, reddit, Technorati, StumbleUpon, Facebook, Brightkite. The list goes on, and on. Since I've been remodeling my blog, I am also giving networking a second look. Which ones are the most popular, or best when it comes to blog networking? Which is your favorite? My favorite is Twitter.

I've joined several communities that I'm listing here. I would love to be add as your friend, or part of your community.

MyBlogLog

Twitter

Blogger Friends is to your left.

Technorati

StumbleUpon

I just joined StumbleUpon because my blog buddy DeboHobo is crazy about it, so I thought I'd give it a try. On StumbleUpon when someone clicks on "awakeinrochester's blog", (bottom right), your suppose to be able to get my feed. It doesn't work. Can anyone suggest how to fix it?

I think I've joined just about everything there is to join but I rarely take part in any of them apart from Twitter.

I use ping.fm to post updates to Twitter and Plurk and Brighkite and Pownce..

See there are far too many!!

Hi S'onnie,

Yes, there are dozens. I'm trying to figure out the top few. Up until now I have mainly used Twitter which is like a mini blog. It's great fun.

Hi Ladybanana,

You said, "I use ping.fm to post updates to Twitter and Plurk and Brighkite and Pownce.."

Does that mean that you can make one comment on ping.fm that will post on all those Soc. Networks?

LadyBanana said...

Yep, if you go to the ping.fm site and join up you will see all the networks it posts to..

You then obviously have to join all the networks first individually then enter your details in ping.fm and there you go, 1 update sent to so many places.

The only prob is that if you get replies on a network you post to but rarely visit you are unlikely to notice the reply.. but never mind, I love to tart myself about a bit.. LOL

Hi LadyBanana,

Well, that's good to know. Sounds like a time saver.

"I love to tart myself about a bit." LOL!

Hi Folks,
I am so a fanatic over stumble because one stumbled post brings my blog over 100 visitors in a day, so imagine if several of my post get stumbled. Because I want everyone that visits my blog to succeed as well, I have been making it a point to stumble anyone that participates. Participation over the weekend days through commenting, linking to and stumbling me comes with benefits.

I use Twitter to see what others mainly in the travel industry are up to and to get blog post ideas. But I also like to keep in touch with blog friends in real time.

Of course I use MyBlogLog although I wish they would allow more than a 15 Community limit per day.

Technorati is not my friend. I don't really pay too much attention to them, oh my blog is listed of course but they don't ping fast enough for me.

I use FACEBOOK to keep in touch with family and friends and I have it set up to list my posts daily.

The list goes on and on so I'll stop here. I had never heard of ping.fm so I am off to go check that out now.

So come on over for some StumbleFest Fun! :)

Hi Debo Hobo,

What? You can leave a message & have 100 visitors? Cool!

How do I add you to my StumbleUpon?

Debo Hobo said...

Request to be a friend, I sent a request via Stumble to you as well. You can also subscribe to my stumbles. I am still finding my way with Stumble but am learning something new everyday :)

@LadyBanana-thanks for the tip on ping.fm, it is really useful and easy to use.

Hi Debo Hobo,

Hey cool! Thanks! This is my second day of Stumbling I am just leaning.

By the way, I sent you an e-mail via your blog.

Ah, "learning" lol

I joined pretty my everything when I first started blogging...never pay attention to too many of them anymore.

Blogcatalog and Twitter are the only 2 I pay attention to now.

Hi Drowsey Monkey,

I don't think your alone in that. I joined about 6 when I started, but dropped most because I didn't understand them. Now I'm going to give some of them a try again. I think that the new Blogger friends is the easiest, but not many people are doing that one yet. I hope it catches on quickly.

I think each bring their own set of "uniqueness". I have Myspace, Facebook, Twitter .. etc. And it's great to have those because you somehow get to find your friend from high school or something.

Just make sure you don't have too many, lol.

Hi -a,

Do you happen to know which are the most popular? I don't know if there has been a study on it.
