Question About The Bush

To shave, or not to shave, or maybe just a trim? That is the question. No, I'm not talking about gardening.

I read an interesting post titled "Don't Beat Around The Bush" by Real Live Lesbian. In it she mentions that her best friend (also a lesbian) has met an unshaven women. But her friend prefers the smooth look. Thus the dilemma. Well, the post got me thinking. What do people prefer?

So my question to you is what do you prefer concerning women? Shaved, unshaven, or just a trim? If your not a man, or a lesbian, maybe you could mention your personal habits. Or, um, your "friends." ;)

Step away from the razor...........

Hi Vodka Mom,

Why do you want me to step way from the razor?

I can't see the pic! Bummer! I am 40 and when I think of it shaven,,,,I think of a little kid. It's a generational thing. I opt for a nice trim....rather than bald.

I did laser hair removal two years ago and loved the results. Waxing and shaving just did a number on my super-sensitive skin. Not for everyone - it really only works for people with both very dark hair and very pale skin. Getting zapped with lasers every 6 weeks isn't exactly a fun time, but it sure beats razor burn.

I agree with L'uragano about it being a generational thing, though. I had a college friend who did a whole project on hair-styles through the years.

I can't see the photo either.

Mmm I go through phases, shaven, trimmed and unshaven. I couldnt do the laser stuff though. I have tried it but nah. I like having options - just like I change my hair styles (hair on my head). I have never dyed it though - then again not sure what I will think when I go grey.....oh the joys.

Hi Mike Golch,

Good to see you. But your chicken. ;)

Awake In Rochester said...

Hi A.,

You did laser hair removal? Is that really safe? I don't think I could let anyone zap me down there, well, not with a laser at lest. ;)

Hi Lilly's Life,

Oh, you sound eclectic!

Hm, gray. I might be tempted to die it. But I don't have to worry about it... today.

Realize that this is the first month in 8 years when "shave off the bush" is not a political comment.

Use a beard trimmer to keep things short and neat.

I like the "well trimmed" look, although I have at times gone clean-shaven.

oh no now you'll have to give me a second after reading dmarks comment!!

Wow I found you. although I do hope that makes you happy.

Personally I go natural. But, as I am 1/4 Cherokee I don't have to shave anything anywhere very often.

Besides when you shave it itches when it starts growing back...lol!!!

Wow this is a first. I've never told this to anyone before....wow I feel freeeee!!!!!

Now I'm headed straight over and get you back in blog roll.

AIR -

The risk of burn injuries increases dramatically with lighter hair and darker skin because the laser strength must be increased. It's quite low for people like me (very pale skin, very dark hair). The facility I chose had only MDs and nurses doing the lasering - many places allow a laser to go in the hands of someone with only a weekend-long crash course. Most of the nurses I had laser me formerly worked in burn units or Shriner's, but moved to laser because of better pay and hours.

It is a generational thing, I'm sure. So generational that I'm not telling ;O)

Awake In Rochester said...

Hi Beetle,

Hm, want me to guess? ;)

I for myself used to keep it shaved bare, then I got older and now I just trim it. If and when I find a man and he has a preference then I will go with that.

But for now, I can't see the forest through the trees.
