It's hard to be in the military year round, but I imagine it's hard to be away from your own kids during the holidays. I can't remember the last time I was away from my kids for too long.

Being a former soldier and the mother of a current soldier. I have to ask do you know the subjects in these photos?

Hi Debo Hobo,

No, I don't know them. I found them on the net, (see photo credit). I think that both photos are powerful.

According to statistics our focus as a nation as switched to the economy. I just wanted to post this brief reminder.

I will pray for your sons protection.

By the way my second cousin was in Iraq. It messed him up a bit mentally for awhile, but he's doing better now.

I certainly will remember them. We "adopted" a couple of soldiers last year .I just mailed them off a package of lights and Christmas decorations and a big box of gingerbread men. If anyone wants to know how they can adopt a soldier they can contact me at tcespbjp@hotmail.com It is very rewarding!

Hi meleah rebeccah,

It's good to have your back! I will notify the police, and tell them to stop their search. The Bloodhounds can have a rest now. ;o)

Hello, My name is Allison and I found your blog through Drowsey. I had to stop here and thank you for this post. I am the mother to an Iraqi combat veteran who made it home alive and I was able to spend his 25th birthday with him last week. I always feel that there is not enough said about those that are on foreign soil fighting. So as the mother to a son who did 18 months in IRAQ, I still feel like I am the mother, sister Aunt etc. to all those over there, and for that I just want to thank you for remembering them.
PEACE!!!

Hi Allison,

Welcome!

Drowsey is cool! I'm glad that you like the post. I just wanted to remind people this time of year. I'm glad that your son made it home!

Peace indeed! I pray for it.
