I'm Online Again! ;o) & Phone Chat Line

My computer monitor has slowly been dying. Last night it bit the dust. I preformed CPR, but no luck.

I realized that old monitors are plentiful, but where? I just had to have one ASAP, but don't have any money, (employer has cut my hours drastically.) Nobody that I asked had an extra monitor so... I got on a local telephone chat line.

I call now and then just to talk. Sometimes I find out how the roads are after a storm. This time I asked the guys if they had a "free monitor with NO STRINGS ATTACHED!" Why is that guys don't understand English? Several wanted me to sleep with them, or give them a "b--- job" for their monitor. One guy said that he would buy me a brand new Dell computer if I would be his um, girl friend. NO THANKS!!! It looks like I could have a whole other occupation if I wanted to. Sheesh!

At any rate, one sweet guy was online. He went out of his way to meet me in a public place, and give my his old computer monitor. When I thanked him he replied, "Oh, I'm glad to be rid of it. It was just taking up space." I could tell he was saying that just to make me more comfortable. He was so sweet, and such a gentleman that I wished I was straight for a minute. So Eric, wherever you are...THANKS! Your my knight in shining armor!

By the way, this monitor is older then mine, and the picture isn't good. So if any of my local regular blog buddies has a better free monitor, I'd be interested. I'm just glad to be online again. Sorry if I'm late commenting on your blogs. I will be making my rounds starting tonight!

P.S. It's always a good idea to meet strangers in a public place. Um, I mean, if your going to meet strangers do it in a public place. ;o)

P.S.S. God always seems to provide for me. Thank You God! ;o)

Gosh its a shame you don't live in New Zealand. I would have been able to get you a relaitvely new LCD monitor from a mates work place, they just replaced all their pcs and were giving things away

Hi S'onnie,

Thanks for the thought! From what I can tell, places around here resell them. No one seem to give them away.

I am glad you found a monitor, even if it is not so great. I hope you find a newer one soon!

You're braver than me! I could never meet a stranger on my own :O)

It was very nice of Eric though.

Wow. I'd never heard of the "Trading monitors for sexual favors" circuit. But I guess it should not be surprising.

I figured your monitor died, especially since your last tweet was something like "Picture dimming..."

You should try Craigslist and see if someone locally has a cheap or free monitor available. The shipping on monitors can cost more than the old monitors themselves, so it'd be better if you can find one nearby that you can pick up.

You could try your local Freecycle group too:

It's good to have you back! Sorry I don't have any monitors to spare, but I hope someone out there can help you out with one soon.

Hi Lady Banana,

Well, what can I say.... MEN! lol!

Hi babs,

I met him at a restaurant, so I felt safe. Plus, he gave no indication that he was interested in sex. He never even asked me what I looked like. Which is a common question if your going to meet another person. So I thought he was genuine. ;o)

Hi dmarks,

Yes, it was a bit crazy.

LadyBanana,

Hi Speedcat Hollydale,

Wait a minute. Made you wish you were gay? Now that's a post I'd love to read! ;o)

Thanks for your nice thoughts concerning my employment.

I'll come visit your blog soon.

Hi Olga, the Traveling Bra,

"CPR on monitor." Hey, I tried, but I couldn't find the darn things mouth. I think I was breathing into it's belly button. Or at least I hope it was the belly button!

So, I'm the only one who got it right? ;o) *Jumping up and down* I won! I won! Ah, what did I win again? lol

Am I the only one who sometimes reads other peoples comments?

"Who can turn the world on with her smile. Who can take a nothing day, and suddenly make it seem worth wild..."

Hm, wonder why that entered my head?

Hey Speedcat Hollydale,

"THAT part silly"

Just giving credit where credit is due. ;o)

Glad you got on line again.. that really sucks. I usually just go to the library until I can find one in the goodwill someplace. Take care.. : )

Hi caroldee,

Good to see you!

The library was my back up plan, but library's have a time limit here. I'm glad that it worked out.

you might want to find if there is something like a freecycle movement in your area.you might find a newer one that way.
