Strong quake shakes Southern California

LOS ANGELES (AP) By ROBERT JABLON — A strong earthquake shook Southern California on Tuesday, causing buildings to sway and triggering some precautionary evacuations. No immediate damage was reported.

The jolt was felt from Los Angeles to San Diego, and slightly in Las Vegas.

Preliminary information from the U.S. Geological Survey estimated the quake at magnitude 5.8, centered 29 miles east-southeast of downtown Los Angeles near Chino Hills in San Bernardino County.

Thanks for asking how I was again, really appreciate that! It was awkward feeling an earthquake because I haven't felt one for such a long time.

It's L.A. so I guess I wasn't too shocked about it since I've always been living here, lol.

Fortunately California was prepared for it. They have strict building codes, so it caused minor damage.

My sister lives in that area. I was just relieved that there were no serious injuries or deaths.

Hi meleah rebeccah,

I heard about it on T.V., a news bulletin. They stressed that it wasn't that bad. Buildings were still standing, and no one was kill. So I knew people were probably just shook up.

Still I was worried about my cyber friends too. I got a scare when I realized that -a experienced the earthquake.
