hi, i don't have a blog category for CNAs (or PCAs to be mroe polically corect now) because i have not really "met" a CNA blogger until now. i hope you don't mind if i added you to my "other bloggers" category because there's really not much CNAs blogging at this time.

thanks for dropping by my blog. and for the picture...that could have been me, and the caption will still fit :)

Hello May,
WELCOME!

I hope that you don’t think I was angry with you. I have an English dry sense of humor some times. It doesn’t translate well over the net. I drew a smiley face when I said it. It was very nice of you to add me to your blogroll. I will add you to my blogroll, and my reader too.

Thank You!!!

P.S. I am a C.N.A. I'm Certified by the State of N.Y. (and certifiable everywhere else.) I'm not a PCA, but some of my friends are.

(Note to self- Careful of the English dry wit, especially then you first meet someone. Oh, and don't forget to buy milk, bananas, and Doritos.)

all our PCAs are CNAs. we just don't call them CNA anymore because it's not politically correct anymore, since they are supposed to assist the patients, not the nurses.

thanks for the welcome. no worries, i didn't think you were angry, i just wanted to explain why i didn't have a CNA blogger category :)

Hi May,

Thanks for stopping by. I was leaving you a message on your blog, at the same time that you were leaving this message. ;o)

I think that the laws in New York (or at lest Rochester), and California are different. Most facilities in Rochester hire CNA's, but would not hire PCA's (or PCT- Patient Care Technicians), unless they were willing to train to be CNA's. The difference is that PCA/PCT's are not certified by the state of NY, and CNA's are state certified. Ironically most PCA/PCT's have more technical training then a CNA's. Personally I believe that PCA/PCT should receive higher pay, and have state recognition by being state certified, but that's not the way it is.

Where I work, they do not hire PCA/PCT's. They only hire CNA's. I don't think that's far, but that's how it is here. Silly rules and regs.

I know that's how things are in Rochester, I assumed it was the same everywhere, but obviously not.
